BLACKPINK’s Lisa has unveiled the first look at the upcoming music video for her solo debut ‘Lalisa’.
BLACKPINK’s agency YG Entertainment released the clip on September 7. In the clip, various short glamorous scenes of the singer are stitched together, including some of the Thai-born rapper walking through an alley, a grandiose hallway and on a motorbike.
The clip is soundtracked by a hip-hop instrumental, accompanied by a line from the forthcoming single: “Say Lalisa, love me / Lalisa, love me”. The rapper and dancer is set to make her solo debut on Friday (September 10), following her bandmates Jennie and Rosé.
The upcoming single album will feature four tracks: the songs ‘Lalisa’ and ‘Money’, alongside their instrunmental versions. ‘Lalisa’ was written by frequent BLACKPINK collaborators 24, Bekuh Boom and Teddy Park, while ‘Money’ was helmed by 24, Boom, R.Tee and Vince.
Lisa previously teased her solo project on her Instagram stories, posting two images of her in a recording studio. In the images, two people could be seen hunched over a computer screen while working on music. Both wore merchandise from The Black Label, a subsidiary of BLACKPINK’s YG Entertainment.
In the first four days of it going up for pre-order, ‘Lalisa’ racked up more than 700,000 sales. According to YG, pre-orders have come from many regions outside of South Korea, including the United States, China, Japan, Europe and Southeast Asia.
In May, producer DJ Snake claimed that he had collaborated with Lisa on a new song in a since-deleted string of tweets. However, it currently does not seem that he will play a part in the rapper’s solo debut.
