Dababy had a narrow miss at Rolling Loud Miami this week, dodging a shoe thrown from the crowd after he brought out Tory Lanez for a surprise performance during his set.
The rapper took to the festival stage over the weekend (July 25), bringing out a costumed figure in the middle of his set. “I’ll give somebody out here a million dollars if they can guess who [sic] in here,” he said.
Lanez then removed the costume, and the two began to perform their recent collaboration ‘Skat’. Watch the reveal below:

The onstage reveal drew controversy, with Lanez currently facing charges over allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion last year.
While the motive is unclear, an audience member threw a shoe at Dababy’s head that narrowly missed later on in his set.
“Who the fuck threw that motherfucking busted-ass god damn Adidas?” Dababy asked.
Dababy found the culprit, threatening to “do a front flip” into the mosh pit to attack them. “Don’t throw no more [sic] busted-ass shoes,” he warned.

Once frequent collaborators, Megan and Dababy’s relationship appears to have soured after Megan criticised the rapper last month for linking up with Lanez in the first place.
As the two engaged in back and forth on Twitter, Megan tweeted: “Support me in private and publicly do something different… these industry men are very strange.”
“This situation ain’t no damn ‘beef’, and I really wish people would stop down playing it [the alleged shooting] like it’s some internet shit for likes and retweets.”
Dababy’s set at Rolling Loud Miami directly followed Megan Thee Stallion’s own set. Before playing ‘Skat’, Dababy performed his verse from Megan’s track ‘Cry Baby’, while the disguised Lanez emerged from backstage. Following Lanez’s appearance, Dababy performed another Megan collaboration, ‘Cash Shit’.
This isn’t the only controversy Dababy’s performance at the festival has sparked, with comments he made earlier in the set being criticised as homophobic.
“If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, any of them [sic] deadly sexually transmitted diseases that’ll make you die in two or three weeks, put your cellphone light up,” Dababy said.
“Ladies, if your pussy smell like water, put your cellphone light up. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking dick in the parking lot, put your cellphone light up.”

Dababy defended himself later on social media. “Regardless of what y’all motherfuckers are talking about and how the internet twisted up my motherfucking words,” he wrote, “me and all my fans at the show, the gay ones and the straight ones, we turned the fuck up.”
T.I. also defended Dababy’s comments in a video posted on social media, comparing them to Lil Nas X‘s openness about his sexuality in his music.
“If you have a Lil Nas X video, and him living his truth,” he said, “you gone [sic] damn sure have people like DaBaby who are going to speak they [sic] truth.”
